Monday 13th – Sunday 19th May is Mental Health Awareness week where we will be raising awareness of mental health.
We’re asking for 250 individuals or organisations to raise a minimum of £250 for us during the month of May to help us to fund the services we deliver.
In the past two decades, there’s been a positive shift in public awareness and understanding of common mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. This progress has undoubtedly benefited many individuals. However, there’s still much ground to cover.
Despite the fact that one in six adults in the UK experiences symptoms of poor mental health, we find ourselves trailing behind in the ongoing conversation. An alarming 93% of individuals struggling with mental illness believe that there’s insufficient awareness and understanding regarding the profound impact of mental health struggles.
That’s why, during Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re moving the conversation forward to encompass all those touched by mental illness, shedding light on what must evolve.
It’s time to unveil the mask obscuring the reality of mental health stigma and to highlight the many resources available to individuals and their loved ones who are grappling with mental health challenges.
Unmasked Mental Health is a charity which receives no funding whatsoever from the government. We support hundreds of people every single week and our services are becoming busier and busier every single week. We are funded through our fundraising activities, grants and selling some of our services to businesses across the UK.
This is how your £250 can help us at Unmasked:
Your fundraising makes a vital difference to the community. Whether it’s a cake bake, dress down days, a walk, a sponsored swim or anything else, it will help someone who is suffering and in need of support.
Please support us by registering your intent to support us during the month of May.
