Employer Counselling Services
Employer-Referred Counselling
Professional, accessible support delivered at the point of need.
Unmasked Mental Health offers a low-cost Employer-Referred Counselling Service for organisations who want to provide timely, compassionate mental health support to their workforce. As a trusted local mental health charity, we deliver meaningful, high-quality counselling through qualified and experienced professionals.
Referrals are made directly by the employer, allowing support to be put in place quickly and sensitively. Once a referral is received, our team liaises directly with the employee to arrange counselling in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for them. All payment for the service is handled by the employer, removing any financial or administrative burden from the employee at a time when they may already be feeling under pressure.
Our counselling operates on an “At the Point of Need” model, with no waiting lists. We scale our counselling provision in line with demand, ensuring employees can access timely support when it matters most. Early intervention often helps prevent challenges from escalating, and where appropriate, counselling can support employees to remain in work or return more confidently and sustainably.
Counselling is entirely confidential to the employee. No session content is shared with the employer, creating a safe, trusted space where individuals can speak openly and honestly, knowing their privacy is respected at all times.
Sessions can be delivered face to face at our Halifax offices, or online or by telephone for businesses and employees located further afield across the UK. This flexible approach allows employers to offer consistent, high-quality support regardless of location, while giving employees choice in how they access help.
By providing access to professional counselling at the point of need, employers demonstrate a genuine commitment to wellbeing while supporting engagement, stability, and retention within the workforce. The result is a healthier, more supported team — and a workplace culture where people feel valued, not just managed.

Onsite Wellbeing & Drop-In Counselling Support
A friendly, approachable wellbeing presence within your workplace.
Our Onsite Wellbeing Service offers a relaxed and supportive way to bring mental health support directly into your workplace. One of our qualified counsellors becomes a familiar, friendly face within your organisation, visiting onsite on a regular basis — often as little as once a month — to provide confidential, informal drop-in support for employees.
Having a wellbeing professional physically present creates a sense of safety and approachability that remote services alone can’t always achieve. Employees can access support in a comfortable, non-pressured way, whether they need a quiet conversation, space to offload, or early support with challenges that may be affecting their wellbeing, focus, or confidence at work.
This gentle, preventative approach helps normalise conversations around mental health and reduces the barriers that often stop people from seeking help. Over time, trust builds naturally, making it easier for employees to reach out before concerns escalate into stress-related absence or disengagement.
By embedding wellbeing support internally, even on a light-touch basis, employers demonstrate a genuine commitment to their people. The result is a more open, connected workplace culture where staff feel seen, supported, and valued — not just when they’re struggling, but as part of everyday working life.
Why employers choose this service:
- Immediate access to professional counsellors.
- Removes stigma around seeking help.
- Embeds mental health support into workplace culture.
- Strengthens wellbeing strategies and HR support systems.
- Demonstrates strong organisational commitment to staff welfare.
Proven impact
- Reduced absenteeism and sickness leave.
